Registration for Returning Families

Registration for New Families

Dear Parents,

Thank you for supporting the spiritual formation of your child! The Fatima Parish Religious Education Program assists parents in their role as the primary educators of the Faith. Guided by the parish priest, it is organized by a PREP Coordinator and implemented by catechists. Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation are incorporated in the program.

We Believe that:

  • At Baptism parents make a solemn commitment to raise their children “in the practice of the Faith.”  Families need to actively participate in the Life of the Church, especially Sunday Mass.
  • Parents are the primary educators in the Faith. (General Directory for Catechesis, 225)
  • The Christian home is a place where children first learn about the Faith. The family home is “the domestic church,” a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1666)
  • PREP does not take the place of parents; but rather assists them in their efforts to share the Faith with their children.

PREP at Our Lady of Fatima Parish

PREP is held every Tuesday night from 6:45 to 8:00pm at Our Lady of Fatima School. The classes are offered to children from kindergarten to grade seven, commencing early in September and ending about the last week in May/first week of June. In addition to the classes that match up with public school grades there is a catch-up program for older students who have not received any sacraments.  This accelerated program is familiarly referred to as X-L.

Our catechism teachers are volunteers and work in teams either teaching, co-teaching or assisting. We welcome anyone who has heard God calling them to this opportunity to teach our faith to the children.

Our PREP Coordinator is Linder.  She can be reached at fatimaprep@gmail.com or call 604.931.7590. You can register your oldest child online New Family Registration  Please use this link for:  Additional Children
